Inducted November 15, 2023

From his experience as a young man beginning in 1972 and working for 12 years for a farmer owned cooperative to the completion of 30 years on the Board of Directors for Farmers Pride Cooperative in 2018, Jerry Dolesh learned and lived by the example of the “Cooperative Way”. Throughout his Board tenure, Jerry advocated for the cooperative system with pride for his local cooperative and believed in working closely with other local cooperatives and regional cooperatives to bring value to all farmers in the trade territory.
In addition to serving 17 years as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Farmers Pride, Jerry served the greater Nebraska agricultural cooperative system through 10 years of service on the Nebraska Cooperative Council Board of Directors. In that capacity he was active on both the NCC’s Legislative Advisory Committee and Fund for Excellence Committee for 5 years each. After concluding his term on the NCC Board of Directors, Jerry served an additional 8 years on the NCC Hall of Fame Committee.
Described as “...always holding the belief that the cooperative structure is the best structure for farmers to retain their independence and relevancy in the marketplace.”, Jerry has often summed up the value proposition of the farmer owned cooperative system by repeating this simple question: “If you can do business with yourself by supporting the cooperative, why wouldn’t you?”
